Admissions – Applying for a place at Gilmorton / Appealing against a non-admission descision

Gilmorton Chandler Primary is a popular school and as such places at the school are limited.

Mid Year Admissions:

If your child has already started school and you are thinking of moving them to us, or if you are moving into the area, please ring us on 01455 552 343 to see if we have any places available and also to book a tour of the school with either the Head Teacher or the Assistant Head Teacher.

First Time Admissions:

If your child is coming up to school age and you are looking for a place in our upcoming Reception class then you will need to complete the County Council’s admissions requirements (they can be found here). The County Council’s closing date for children starting in September 2016 is 15th January 2017. County will endeavour to make the results of the admissions process known on 17th of April 2017.

As a Church Academy school you also need to also fill in and return to us, our Governing Body Admissions Form. The closing date for getting our form back to us is 24th February 2017.

Remember you can ring the school on 01455 552 343 to request a tour.

Appealing against a non-admission decision:

If you have applied for a place for your child(ren) at Gilmorton Chandler CofE Primary School but have been unsuccessful then have the right to appeal the decision. As we are a church school you will need to contact Kerry Miller at the Leicester Diocesan Board of Education on either:

Telephone: 0116 2615350 or email: Kerry.miller@leccofe.org

Kerry will be happy to answer any questions regarding making an appeal and will guide you through the process.

The following document provides you with more information on the appeals process:
