Annual Statement of Governor Impact

This academic year we were successful in achieving condition improvement fund grants to complete the following works:

  • Full refurbishment of all children’s toilet facilities
  • Repairs to pitched and flat rooves
  • Replacement of single glazed windows and doors
  • Emergency repairs to boundary wall
  • Refurbishment of school hall

We’ve employed a number of additional staff to support children with significant needs. In addition, small group or one-to-one tuition was put in place to accelerate the progress of targeted children and those entitled to pupil premium funding.

Using the PE and sports funding, we were able to offer a number of alternative after school clubs, for example, golf, tennis, yoga and archery. Specific year groups accessed outdoor pursuits activities and teaching staff attended relevant professional development opportunities to enhance the teaching of PE.

The school achieved the following awards:

  • Beyond Bullying
  • Food for Life Partnership (Silver)
  • Science Mark (Silver)
  • Activemark (Silver)

Mrs Sandford completed a number of National Leader of Education deployments and qualified as a Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist School’s inspector. Mr Shields led a number of Specialist Leader in Education (Computing) activities. Mrs Simons and Mrs Otway completed the National and Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership and Mrs Raymond achieved a full degree.
